This is how Look has succeeded with the 585, a pure technological wonder weighing only 990 grams.
Made with Very High Module (VHM) carbon tubes, the 585 also has the very latest Look exclusive carbon frame lug technology: forged at very high pressure for the bottom bracket (the place on the frame subject to the most stress) woven for the saddle and steering tube. The Sloping Evolusize design gives unique geometry for each size of frame. With the latest HCS 5 SL fork, the frame and fork assembly only weighs 1,285 grams.

LOOK patented Integrated Headset
LOOK patented headset kit : the LOOK patent is on the removable cups in the head set kit. Compatible with all head set standard kits on the market: (36° and 45° Sealed Bearings).
Evolutionary sloping optimizes the geometry of every single frame size. The angles of the seat tube and head tube are different for every sizes. Every frame has a unique geometry that fits all riders with a slope going from 65 mm for XS size (49) to 0 for the XL size (57).

The 585 tubes have an oriented stiffness to increase efficiency and maintain comfort. The internal reinforcements in the structure of the tube give an increase of 25% in lateral stiffness.
Look has developed a new manufacturing technique for the bottom bracket: very high-pressure compression forged carbon (VHPC). The precise positioning of unidirectional carbon fibers inside the mold and the very high-pressure molding make it possible to obtain a part that is lightweight and whose lateral rigidity is improved by 25% compared with aluminum connectors, giving a weight saving of 50%.

All the know-how of LOOK can be summarized in these four letters. Because, in order for a road frame to be efficient, it must be both rigid and flexible, meaning responsive and comfortable. In theory, these two qualities are antagonistic, but with precise orientation of the carbon sheets and the positioning of more rigid layers or stiffeners in certain places, we obtain a perfect compromise. This technology requires special manufacturing techniques, which are often manual.
