Lightness without concession!
An efficient frame certainly does not mean a light frame! This equation would be too easy. To obtain maximum output, along with the necessary safety, the best possible compromise of weight, responsiveness, comfort, and safety needs to be arrived at. This is how Look has succeeded with the 585, a pure technological wonder weighing only 990 grams.
Made with Very High Module (VHM) carbon tubes, the 585 also has the very latest Look exclusive carbon frame lug technology: forged at very high pressure for the bottom bracket (the place on the frame subject to the most stress) woven for the saddle and steering tube. The Sloping Evolusize design gives unique geometry for each size of frame. With the latest HCS 5 SL fork, the frame and fork assembly only weighs 1,285 grams.

Very High Modulus
Tubes made of Super High Module carbon fibres (VHM) which give an ultra light frame whilst retaining optimum efficiency.

LOOK patented Integrated Headset
LOOK patented headset kit : the LOOK patent is on the removable cups in the head set kit. Compatible with all head set standard kits on the market: (36° and 45° Sealed Bearings).

Evolusize
Evolutionary sloping optimizes the geometry of every single frame size. The angles of the seat tube and head tube are different for every sizes. Every frame has a unique geometry that fits all riders with a slope going from 65 mm for XS size (49) to 0 for the XL size (57).

Double Curves Dynamic
Double Curve carbon wishbone: twice curved, the Double Curve wishbone gives maximum lateral rigidity while retaining vertical flexibility and considerable comfort.

HSC 5 SL Fork
New HSC5 SL fork : 295 grams. 100% single-piece carbon .

Oriented Rigidity
The 585 tubes have an oriented stiffness to increase efficiency and maintain comfort. The internal reinforcements in the structure of the tube give an increase of 25% in lateral stiffness.

Look has developed a new manufacturing technique for the bottom bracket: very high-pressure compression forged carbon (VHPC). The precise positioning of unidirectional carbon fibers inside the mold and the very high-pressure molding make it possible to obtain a part that is lightweight and whose lateral rigidity is improved by 25% compared with aluminum connectors, giving a weight saving of 50%.

The Look secret of manufacturing, "Dual Comfort & Stiffness Concept".
All the know-how of LOOK can be summarized in these four letters. Because, in order for a road frame to be efficient, it must be both rigid and flexible, meaning responsive and comfortable. In theory, these two qualities are antagonistic, but with precise orientation of the carbon sheets and the positioning of more rigid layers or stiffeners in certain places, we obtain a perfect compromise. This technology requires special manufacturing techniques, which are often manual.

The bottom bracket is the heart of the frame and supports the highest stress.  While making this component lighter, it is also necessary to be sure to maintain high strength and stiffness. Look has developed a new manufacturing technique : Forged CarbonŽ, where the lug is molded using very high pressure compression (VHPC). The precise positioning of unidirectional carbon fibers inside the mold and the very high-pressure molding make it possible to obtain a part that is lightweight and whose lateral rigidity is improved by 25% compared with aluminum connectors, giving a weight saving of 50%.

First top-range carbon frame model, the 461 benefits from extremely high technology. Light and efficient, the 461 is the ideal frame for discovering carbon technology. Fitted with a HSC4 carbon frame and wishbone replacing traditional stays, it is intended for all racers looking for an efficient and versatile frame. Its compact geometry gives a slope on the four smaller sizes before disappearing as from size 57.

HR Carbon
More flexible than HM (high modulus) fiber but just as tough, HR (High Resistance) fiber can be used to make more comfortable frames. It is cheaper than HM fiber, meaning that frames can be made that are excellent value for money.

LOOK patented Integrated Headset
LOOK patented headset kit : the LOOK patent is on the removable cups in the head set kit. Compatible with all head set standard kits on the market: (36° and 45° Sealed Bearings).

HSC 4 Fork
380g Monobloc carbon. Available in 1'' or 1'1/8 e with integrated headset for higher lateral stiffness and more precise handling.

Compact Geometry
This describes "compact" or "sloping" geometry when the top tube, also called "cross bar" is not horizontal, and where the junction between the seat tube is lowered by several centimeters compared with the horizontal.

Oversize Zone
Oversized part or piece in order to increase rigidity and strength. This generally concerns aluminium connectors, which must be as rigid as possible, whereas tubes made of carbon are more flexible and comfortable .

HR Carbon Wishbone.
Thanks to its forming process, the wishbone provides extra lateral rigidity without change in vertical rigidity, giving a more comfortable ride.

HR (High Resistance) carbon Oversize PRO MAX tubes for extra rigidity without increasing weight .
