New Zealand's three Superstars of cycling Julian Dean, Hayden Roulston and Greg Henderson all hit Paris this weekend with the serious mission of helping their respective team leaders walk off with the cobbled trophy when the finish line comes in Roubaix.
Riding for three of the strongest squads in Pro cycling, Dean will be riding in service for Dutchman Martijn Maaskant, Brit David Millar and US fastman Tyler Farrar. With a three pronged approach Garmin will be a formidable force on Sunday.
Roulston will be supporting designated man for the day Bernhard Eisel. The classics star is ready to tackle the toughest roads in Northern France after a solid start to the season. Roulston will play a pivotal role on the day having been in the squads A-team for all major races so far this season.
Thirdly our winningest Pro cyclist of the season so far this season is Greg Henderson. The SKY Team sprinter has made such a name for himself this season but this weekend will be hammering it hard on the front for Spaniard Juan Antonio Flecha. Henderson last year rode an intelligent race which saw him in the lead breakaway for over 110km acting as a bridge for team mates when the contenders rode to the front in the second half of the race.
Neo Pro Sam Bewley ridng for the aradioshack has got the call up in his first season, just one year ago Bewley was riding in support of US rider Taylor Phinney and assisted him in pulling off the win. This year round Bewley will be gaining experience in a race he is fascinated by.
