Roofing of the Wanganui Velodrome passed its second stage yesterday when the design report-business and marketing plans along with economic benefit data was presented to the District Council---the feasibility study had previously been passed.

The Council voted that the project will go to a public referendum this year and based on public support which appears very high in the City the Velodrome Event Centre would likely be a capital priority for the city and attract substantial financial support.

This is a $21million project which is styled on 'Best In Class' and includes the only indoor athletic track in Australasia and International class speed skating track along with 3 netball and tennis courts.
