Counties Manukau Club Update
12 May, 2009
Well another busy day at Ramarama last Saturday, with nearly maximum fields in several grades, there was some great racing. Also a good result for the race day sponsors with Aarron Strong winning the A grade, being a principal at Kinetic Edge coaching and a sponsored rider of Avanti Plus Mt Eden. Something for other sponsors to aspire to perhaps?

There were a couple of minor crashes in some wet and slippery conditions, luckily there was nobody seriously hurt. I have spoken to a couple of those involved and they are ok. On behalf of the committee I would also like to offer our many thanks to those riders who stopped and helped those who had crashed. It is great to see that sort of sportsmanship and attitude of looking after your mates. It is after all just club racing not the "world champs" This stands us in good stead as a club and the sort of teamwork required for us to be successful at events like the National Club Champs.

Etiquette
With regard to doing "the right thing" we had an incident on Saturday where riders from one grade who had been dropped, got mixed up into the following grade and by the way they rode changed the dynamics of that grades race. This is not acceptable. Riders pay to enter a race in their grade, and do not expect to have it changed by other riders from outside their grade.

If you get dropped in future events in any grade you can do 1 of several things.

1. Join on the back of the next bunch and enjoy an easy ride round without rolling through; or

2. Pull out the next time past finish line advising the timekeepers of your DNF

3. Continue on your own to get some good training k's

2 Person TT
Just a reminder that racing does start at 1:30pm this Saturday and that the entrance to the hall at Aka Aka is just on the course. So if you are late arriving please take care as to where you drive and park

Looking forward to seeing all the TT bling on show.

Waikato BOP Half Distance Champs
The Waikato / BOP Half Distance Champs are on 23rd May. This is a Saturday that we are not racing at Counties, but North Harbour are racing on the Sunday as per programme. You will require a National License to enter this event, for more details please click here.
