HTC Take Hold of NZCT Tour on Stage One
23 Feb, 2011

HTC-Highroad's longtime performers Judith Arndt, Amber Neben and Ina Teutenberg took the NZ Charitable Trust Women's Tour of New Zealand to the rest of the field today in stage one to Masterton, the trio's aggressive riding netted the US squad the stage win, the sprinter's jersey and the bunch sprint to boot.

NZ Road Champion Cath Cheatley showed her class in splitting the HTC-Highroad pair finishing in second place and in doing so has kept her dreams alive of winning the final yellow jersey in Wellington this Sunday.

"It was incredible team work out there," reported HTC-Highroad rookie Ally Stacher, "We all stuck to our jobs and we were in all the breaks. We shut everything down.

"Amber Neben has the sprinter's jersey and Judith Arndt won the stage after Amber led her out in the final 900 metres before Judith pinned it with 200 metres remaining," she explained.
