Meet Lance at Final ProTour Race

Cycling enthusiasts have the chance of a lifetime to meet seven-time Tour de France winner Lance

Armstrong during his farewell ride at the Santos Tour Down Under, in Adelaide from 16-23 January,

2011.

Premier Mike Rann has announced that all entrants in this year’s Mutual Community Challenge

Tour presented by The Advertiser, will now go in to a draw to win two tickets to the Legends’ Night

Dinner, held on Saturday, 22 January 2011 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The prize will include a meet and greet with the sporting great and the opportunity to sit

with a cycling star at the Legends’ Night Dinner. Two runners up will receive signed Lance

Armstrong jerseys.

“This is an amazing opportunity for fans to be part of the celebrations for what will be cycling legend

Lance Armstrong’s last professional race on international soil,’’ Mr Rann said.

“Lance Armstrong launched his comeback to professional cycling at the 2009 Santos Tour Down

Under and it’s an honour that his last professional race will be in South Australia.

“I encourage everyone to sign up for the Mutual Community Challenge Tour, the recreational ride of

the Santos Tour Down Under, which will be held on Friday, 21 January 2011 from Norwood to

Strathalbyn,” Mr Rann said.

More than 5200 people have already registered for the Mutual Community Challenge Tour, however

Mr Rann is urging cycling enthusiasts who are yet to sign up for the ride to register before 5pm on

Friday, 7 January 2011.

Mr Rann announced the opportunity yesterday at the unveiling of this year’s Santos Tour Down

Under official race jerseys.

The official race jerseys are: Santos Ochre Leader, Skoda King of the Mountain, Jayco Sprint, Cycle

Instead Young Rider, Hindmarsh Most Aggressive Rider and the SA Brilliant Blend Winning Team.

Cyclists wishing to ride in the Mutual Community Challenge Tour and be in the running to meet

Lance Armstrong, can register at www.tourdownunder.com.au.

In addition, the Cancer Council SA is encouraging cyclists to Ride for a Reason and raise money for
