Avery Set to Debut on the Big Stage
25 Nov, 2010

The Pegasus Sports team today announced the signing of Kiwi cycling giant Clinton Avery and Australians Rohan Denis and Darren Lapthorne to the squad for 2011.  The team formerly known as Fly V Australia is making the big step to Europe after topping the ranks in the USA this season.

Avery, 22, rode the latter part of this season as a stagaire for Team RadioShack. A former national mountain bike champion in cross-country, he also has two U23 titles on the road and three top ten finishes in the U23 Paris - Roubaix Classic. His victories this year include the Vlaamse Pijl Harelbeke as well as the GP Stad Roeselare.

Several ProTour racers have made the move to Pegasus Sports during this transfer season including figurehead Robbie McEwen but the formation has failed in its bid to attain one of the 18 exclusive Pro Team places for the 2011 season and will now have to rely on wild card invitations to the world's biggest races.
