Auckland cyclist Aaron Gate is a late addition to the New Zealand team for the Commonwealth Games.
The 19 year old has filled a spot in the endurance track squad for the games and has been in Europe with the group competing in the road programme in Belgium and France over the last three months.
Gate was third in the team pursuit at the junior world championships and third in the team pursuit at the Beijing World Cup earlier this year.
He has been in strong form in Europe with a number of top placings in stage races and has joined the team in preparation at Bordeaux.
Gate’s selection brings the total Commonwealth Team to 193 including 27 cyclists.
