bioSPORT Criteriums Start Tonight
4 Feb, 2010 - Wendy Thompson
If you've ever been interested in racing or watching hard, fast and furious inner city racing (think Grand Prix on bikes!) bring the family and come on down.  It has the makings of an excellent event for competitors and spectators alike with some great riders including bioSPORT-sponsored Alex Ray who recently won the Christchurch Festival of Cycling Criterium, and his Bici Vida team mates hot contenders against Kiwi Velo and possibly Subway in the A grade. There have also been rumours of new NZ citizen Linda Villumsen competing in the Womens Elite in B grade.

An addition to the race format is a C grade for those new to Crit racing - or don't quite have the legs for B grade! Some special info below for those who are considering having a go - we'd love to see you down there.

ALL entrants go in to win excellent prizes. Special thanks to our prize sponsors Air New Zealand, Cibo Restaurant, Allpress Coffee, Grace Lang Optometry, Sanctuary Developments, Hammer Nutrition and cyclingnzshop.com. Also huge thanks to all the many helpers and marshals, especially Auckland Grammar Cycling, Pete Bruggeman and the Six:30 bunch. Without their support this event wouldn't be happening.

It's a busy few weeks ahead, best of luck for everyone competing across all codes, especially the Coast to Coast, Ironman and the Dual. Looking forward to seeing you in the studio or out and about whilst the summer rolls on - perhaps tomorrow evening even!

Happy days,
the bioSPORT Team
