North Shore Grand Prix - Head to Head Battle This Friday
21 Jan, 2010

This Friday night Hurstmere Rd will host the 7th annual North Shore City Grand Prix in Takapuna Beach. This year's edition promises to be the most hotly contested in the event's history with many of New Zealand's very best riders bringing top form to Takapuna. North Shore's Mike Northey & his Bici Vida team who are full of fasting-finishing sprinters (Patrick Bevin, Alex Ray) will face challenges from multiple NZ Champion GORDON MCCAULEY & his Subway-Avanti team who are defending the title after Hayden Godfrey's storming win in 2009. Perhaps the strongest resistance will come from Olypmians NZ Champion PETER LATHAM or a resurgent TIM GUDSELL (Francais des Jeux) in his first outing of 2010.

The Elite Women's title will be strongly defended my triple Grand Prix champion Marina Duvnjak but she will face fierce competition from Australian Bridie O'Donnell who is hot off winning the Oceania Championships & silver medals in both Australian Road Race & TT titles.

RadioSport's Mark Watson & Kiwi cycling icon Graeme Miller will call the night's entertainment with Miller rumoured to be joining the racing at some stage of proceeedings....

Racing starts from 5.30pm with support races & includes Unicyle & Skating performances.
