Christie Takes Final and Roulston the Yellow
4 Jan, 2010

After four sun filled days in the beautiful Tasman, Pro Tour racer Hayden Roulston wrapped up a successful trip north from his Canterbury base culminating in his first yellow jersey for 2010.  The Columbia HTC rider finished mid pack in the 60km final stage around the roads of Richmond with his one second advantage over George Bennett never under any threat.

UK bound rider Jason Christie took final stage line honors sprinting clear of second placed rider Michael Northey (Bica Vida), and Patrick Bevin U23 (Bica Vida) in 3rd spot.

Conway Taylor (Masters 1) from Marlborough won the final stage Masters race from Nick Batt M2 (Nsn Alarms) with Brad McFarlane taking overall Tour Honors.  BikeNZ CEO Kieran Turner rounded out a solid four days with a stage win on day one and fifth place in the final stage.

Cath Cheatley took her first Tour win for 2010 in the Open womens race maintaining her five minute advantage over Karen Fulton but had the tables turned in the final stage with Fulton taking a much deserved win for stage honors.
