Tour de Vineyards Attracts Big Names
20 Dec, 2009

It's that time of year again where the countries racing elite start fine tuning for their first big hit out for the year the Tour de Vineyards in Nelson, in what is arguably New Zealand's most picturesque racing backdrop.  With the Elite National Championships looming soon after the TDV finishes on January 4th many riders will be looking to bring their form to a peak on the roads of Nelson.

The Big Gun of NZ road cycling Hayden Roulston lines up for the first time as a Columbia HTC rider after his departure from the Cervelo Test Team and will definitely want to prepare seamlessly as he searches to take the NZ Champions jersey back to the roads of Europe this year.

PowerNet Tour of Southland winner Heath Blackgrove has been showing strong form lately and will be looking to add the TDV title to his recent palmares.

In the Women's race International Cath Cheatley will be tough to beat; the all rounder has one of the best finishes on her in the sport and always races to win.

The Auckland Team "Bici Vida" is still to name their final line up of five riders; the flamboyant squad has talent to choose from in their ranks and will no doubt look to take the race to the peloton.

Senior Men, U23 Men, U19 Men.
