New Zealand's Gudsell for Tour Down Under
2 Dec, 2009

French cycling team Francaise des Jeux will return to the Santos Tour Down Under in January 2010, looking to claim a third Winning Team victory.

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director, Mike Turtur, believes the team has their sights set on a third straight win after taking overall honours in the Winning Team category in 2008 and 2009.

"Francaise des Jeux are bringing a strong team to Adelaide and have a good chance of securing the winning team jersey for the third straight year," says Mike Turtur

"The team will be lead by New Zealander Timothy Gudsell, who has ridden here a number of times and is a good competitor."

Tasmanian Wesley Sulzberger will be part of the Francaise des Jeux seven-man squad. Sulzberger finished fifth overall in the 2009 Santos Tour Down Under and second in the Cycle Instead Young Rider classification.

"Sulzberger had a very good race here at the 2009 Santos Tour Down Under. He rode well all week and won the Hindmarsh Most Aggressive Rider jersey on the final stage in Adelaide," says Mike Turtur.

"Sulzberger was one of the driving forces behind Cadel Evans’ victory at the World Championships. He rode himself into the ground for his team."

The Belarus National Road Race Champion, Yauheni Hutarovich, will compete at the Santos Tour Down Under. Hutarovich won two stages at the Tour Méditerranéenin 2009.

"As a good sprinter, Hutarovich will be vying for Jayco Sprint Jersey points when he hits the road in Adelaide next year," says Mike Turtur.

French riders Jérémy Roy and Anthony Roux will be part of the Francaise des Jeux team. Both had successes in the 2009 season, with Roy winning Stage 5 of the Paris-Nice this year and Roux winning Stage 17 at the Vuelta a Espana.

The Francaise des Jeux line up for the 2010 Santos Tour Down Under will be led by Team Manager, Thierry Bricaud (FRA) and includes riders:

Timothy Gudsell (NZL) Yauheni Hutarovich (BLR) Thibaut Pinot (FRA)

Anthony Roux (FRA) Jérémy Roy (FRA) Wesley Sulzberger (AUS)

Arthur Vichot (FRA)
