Fizik Renew with Eight WorldTour Teams
18 Dec, 2015

With the new race season fast approaching, fi’zi:k is proud to confirm the UCI WorldTour teams it partners with for 2016. They are:

• AG2R La Mondiale (FRA)

• BMC Racing Team (USA)

• Team Cannondale-Garmin (USA)

• Team Dimension Data (RSA)

• Orica GreenEDGE (AUS)

• Movistar Team (ESP)

• Team Sky (GBR)

All of the teams are fully equipped with fi’zi:k saddles, with each rider able to choose the model that best suits their shape and riding style – the Arione, Antares and Aliante, according to their spine flexibility. Just like the fi’zi:k saddles the public buy, all WorldTour teams riders’ saddles are hand-made in Italy by fi’zi:k’s dedicated staff to exacting standards. fi’zi:k’s values are embedded in racing passion, design, technology research and innovation. So the teams know what to expect from their saddles, but what can we expect from the eight teams?

After the thrilling Tour de France and Vuelta stage wins in 2015 we’re looking forward to more French fireworks! What do Bardet and the other magicians have up their sleeve? (Also using fi’zi:k bar:tape for 2016).

BMC Racing

The double World Team Time Trialists are aiming for a big year – look out for GC contender Tejay Van Garderen, recent world hour holder Rohan Dennis and his fellow Aussie, the new signing Richie Porte in 2016.

After a year of oh-so-nears, strengthening the squad in the off-season means a positive outlook for the year ahead! (Also using fi’zi:k bar:tape for 2016).

Dimension Data

The African team formerly known as MTN-Qhubeka is new to the WorldTour in 2016, and new to the fi’zi:k roster – but there are a number of familiar faces, including the Manx Missile, Mark Cavendish. The winner of 23 Tour de France stages is back on the fi’zi:k Arione, the saddle which helped him to his Road Race World Champion title.

What will FDJ bring us in 2016? More big stage wins we think! With wins at the Tour de Romandie, Tour de Suisse and the Tour de France, Pinot is now ranked in the world’s top ten. He’s set to attack the season, targeting both the Olympics and the Tour de France.

Orica GreenEDGE

Esteban Chaves’ breakthrough performance at the Vuelta sets an optimistic tone for the coming season, with high expectation of the British brothers Adam and Simon Yates. A repeat of the 2015 Giro Team Time Trial victory would set things off nicely.

With team classification wins in the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana, the UCI top and third ranked riders, Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana, and time trial specialist and recent world hour holder Alex Dowsett getting the bit between his teeth, Movistar promises to be hard to beat in 2016.

We’re ready to see Chris Froome back on his Arione saddle. Would you put it past Sky to engineer a fourth Tour de France victory in five years? If anyone can, Team Sky can!

“fi’zi:k are excited to be partnering with such superb and promising teams and we’re looking forward too seeing all our sponsored riders in action,” says fi’zi:k Racing Manager Niccolò IldosThe good news is that there isn’t long to wait – all eight teams are racing the Tour Down Under, starting 14th January.
