Charter Mason to the Fore at Tour of Perth
30 Mar, 2015

The Cycling Australia National Road Series has kicked off in Perth, Western Australia and CharterMason Giant Racing Team (powered by Brennan IT) have hit the road in fine style taking victory in the opening two stages.

Former UCI MTB Eliminator World Champion (and 2015 Australian Champion!) Paul Van Der Ploeg used his impressive bike handling skills and unbelievable 2,400 watt peak power to great effect, winning the short 1.1 km prologue on Thursday evening. This result saw him in the much desired leaders jersey for the first road stage.

Friday saw three CharterMason riders; Ben Hill, Sam Crome and Raphael Freienstein in an 18 man break away that survived to the finish. Thanks to a terrific bit of team work and timing, Raph was able to get up for a super satisfying sprint victory.

Two stages to go, with Raphael Freienstein now second on GC:
