Majka Scores Morale Booster for Tinkoff Saxo
20 Jul, 2014

Rafael Majka scored an important victory for his Billionaire Boss Oleg Tinkoff when he took out the Tour de France's toughest stage so far that finished up the gruelling 12km climb to Risoul.  Majka who had been a member of the day long breakaway had the best legs when the group started the final climb after pretenders Rodriguez, Serpa looking somewhat Mexican with the moustache, and the ever attacking De Marchi had spent themselves fully and were relegated to the slow lane.  Majka sixth overall in the Giro already this year flew off the front riding like a superstar of the future even pulling time from the yellow jersey group as he bore down on the final km flag.
Seeing a glimmer of hope for another stage win Nibali then set sail on an all out chase with the 37 year old Peraud in tow, it was an impressive chase up the mountain at the end of a punishing 177km and to come up just 20 seconds short adds more strength to Nibalis cause as Tour Champion as he stacked more time into all his rivals.
Majka who on announcement of his participation in the Tour last month complained publicly about his team not caring for his health by lining him up in two grand tours back to back will now be eating a good size serve of humble pie as his mountain top victory now serves as his first ever professional win, thanks Bjarne!
