Galloping Gallopin Gets an Impressive Stage
18 Jul, 2014

Having already impressed with his race into the yellow jersey for Bastille day French hope Tony Gallopin not satisfied with just a day in yellow set out with incredible determination on stage 11 to capture and individual victory.  With the lumpy terrain on the run into Oyonnax after 187 km the front of the peloton proved too much for the sprinters teams to control and the perfect catalyst for a rouler like Gallopin to make his move.  First going solo then being joined by a select few including the company of Mr Sagan, Gallopin seeing his chances of taking the win slimming launched again and tore into the finish line scoring an impressive victory by two seconds over a fast closing peloton.

No changes in the overall standings with Nibali still having two hands round the neck of the race as the show readies itself to move into the mountains in two stages time.
