Atkins Hangs Up His Wheels
10 Jan, 2014

Arguably one of the biggest talents to come out of NZ cycling Josh Atkins has announced he has hung up his wheels for good in an interview with sbs.  Atkins who won the Tour of Southland in 2011, placed third in the Jayco Herald SunTour in 2013 and wore a classification jersey in the prestigious Tour of California all by the age of 20, stands by his decision to leave the sport he has achieved so much in behind.

After a challenging year with Omega Pharma being dogged by crashes and injuries Atkins struggled to find the form that he knew he could perform at.  Currently managing a bicycle store in Queenstown Atkins will now take the time to ponder what direction life will take him in next.  Cyclingnz.com wishes Josh all the best for the future.
