Bauer Fires up in Japan Cup
21 Oct, 2013

Kiwi Professional Jack Bauer has finished an impressive second place in the rain soaked season ending Japan Cup.  The Garmin Sharp rider sprinted clear of his breakaway companions 44 seconds behind Michael Rogers (Saxo Bank) but just clear of Damiano Cunego (Lampre).

The decisive group formed as the riders tackled the last lap of the hilly Utsunomiya circuit with Rogers going clear 10 km from the finish.

“In the finale, I managed to go solo and was actually able to enjoy the final kilometers as the margin kept growing. A great way to win all thanks for the perfect set-up by teammates and a magnificent way to finish the season.”

Bauers Podium place caps off an incredible year for the South Islander who has been njoying a fine run of form since his Tour de France debut.  Bauer now ends his season before returning to NZ for a well deserved rest.
