TEAM LOOK CRIT RETURNS FOR 2019 French criterium team enters 2019 with a new style and a refreshed sponsor and rider roster at Rad Race Berlin 9 March 2019 – Nevers, France: Team LOOK Crit returns for 2019 at Rad Race Berlin today, with a striking new style alongside a refreshed rider and sponsor lineup. The amateur criterium and track racing team, of which LOOK is the proud title sponsor, will ride the LOOK 875 Madison and AL 464 track bike for the season in a striking design that will have them stand out from the rest of the peloton. The team have also been working in partnership with high-performance clothing specialists Rapha, who are supplying technically-advanced, pro-level skinsuits for racing. They will race in a brand new magenta and black colour scheme for the coming season, with the LOOK design team working on an artistic concept inspired by renowned 60s artist Franco Grignani. The designer’s goal was to disrupt the spectator while creating optical illusion and psychedelic effect with moving curves, just like the Italian artist. The choice of magenta colour is directly inspired by the pop music of the 80s, and enables the disruptive contrast with the rigour of the black and white curves. Alongside title sponsors LOOK, who will also supply KEO 2 Max Carbon pedals for each rider, the team are also partnered by carbon wheel specialists Corima, who will supply their 47mm and 58mm carbon rims as well as track-specific wheels, and will use Michelin tyres for the season. Oakley will supply their Aro 5 helmets along with their Flight Jacket and Jawbreaker eyewear for racing in all conditions. Selle Italia are providing their SP01 Boost and SLR Superflow saddles, SRAM their Omnium drivetrain, and Deda Elementi supports the team with their Superleggera finishing kit. Meanwhile, Slicy Products (custom mudguards), Till Start (rollers and pre-race support), E-Z UP (team shelter) and BLS Global (bike tools) are also partners of the LOOK Criterium Team for 2019. "LOOK have been with us since the beginning and it is an honour and an incredible opportunity to have them with us heading into the new season." - François Février Ahead of the start of the team’s first race of the season at Rad Race Berlin, Team Manager François Février, said, “Team LOOK Crit started racing in 2016, and has always had the same desire and motivation to be surrounded by the best. In 2019, the team has undergone some changes - a perfectly normal evolution for an amateur team like ours. “This season, having the most fun on the bike is obviously the main goal, but performance is also a key objective - starting with our first race at Rad Race Berlin. LOOK have been with us since the beginning and it is an honour and an incredible opportunity to have them with us heading into the new season." Rider Profiles The team’s roster boasts three new riders for 2019, with Tim Caresa, Margaux Vigie and Achille Métro joining Francois Février. François Février: Team Manager Team Manager François Février is 34 years old, and by day is a Hotel Manager based at Hotel England in Geneva. He discovered fixed-wheel racing in January 2014 by stumbling upon a recap of the 2013 Red Hook Crit Milan. Without ever having done a race before, he set himself the goal of testing himself against the best crit racers by participating in that race the following year. His goal was to finish in the final without being lapped, which he achieved. Février says: “Six years after my first taste of crit racing, it is always with great happiness that I ride a fixed bike, both in training and racing! I am extremely proud that Margaux, Achille and Tim are joining the team for 2019 - it promises to be a great year of competitive racing.” Tim Ceresa: Team Captain Tim Ceresa is 31 years old and the new captain of the Team LOOK Crit for 2019. He comes from a whole other world than cycling - in the past I he has been a high-level skier and is a ski instructor by trade. He first raced fixed gear at the 2014 National Moutarde Crit in Dijon. Since then he has spent five seasons in a foreign team racing exclusively in crits all over Europe and around the world. Caresa says: “When signing for Team LOOK Crit I took the opportunity to come back and ride for a French team. I intend to race as many crits as possible this year with the same desire to achieve podium finishes and to transmit as much experience as possible to my new teammates.” Margaux Vigie Margaux Vigie is a 23 year old studying physiotherapy while currently living in Barcelona. As a result, she is more used to being called ‘Margarita’. She has a background in speed skating, and started cycling as a supplement for her exploits on ice in 2013. In 2016, she raced her first two criteriums, the Vall d'Uixo (featuring pro athlete Ainara Elbusto) and then the Red Hook Crit Barcelona. In 2017, she signed at SantaFixie and split her competitive time between speed skating and cycling, achieving multiple wins and podiums on the way. 2018 marked her first year of bike-focused training and racing, with a podium finish at the Red Hook Crit Brooklyn, and five wins out of seven in other criteriums. 2nd Overall on the Red Hook Crit Championship standings marked the end of an emotionally-charged 2018 season for Vigie. Vigie says: “My contract with Team LOOK Crit in 2019 is a fresh step for me, and I have a new motivation to race, proudly bearing the name of one of the great brands French cycling.” Achille Métro is 23 years old and hails from Toulouse. He is currently working in a bike shop after studying mechanical engineering and aeronautics at university. Previously, he has raced in the 1st FFC class and over three years participated in some professional races at UCI 2.2 standard. He has also raced several Marathon World Series mountain bike races. Métro says: “I discovered fixed gear racing almost two years ago and I immediately loved it - since then, I’ve been hooked on the discipline! I’m really looking forward to racing in 2019 with Team LOOK Crit.” Race Calendar Team LOOK Crit will compete in the NL Crit series in the Netherlands, London’s ThunderCrit and Nocturne, as well as the Fixed Nations Cup in Dijon, France as well as a host of selected other races.
