North Island Secondary Schools Cycling Championships

It's that time of year again and school cycling has never been stronger than it is now.  With record numbers lining up in the Auckland series on Tamaki Drive and BikeNZ churning out the World Championship medals it is time to see the secondary schools racing at it's best. 

The lion Foundation Championships are hosted by the Ngaruawahia Cycling Club Inc and take place in Gordonton just out of Hamilton on the 3rd and 4th of July with the team time trial on the 3rd followed by the road race.

Proving to be in perfect harmony the South Island Secondary Schools Championships will take place over the same weekend.  Stay tuned for the SI details.

Could School entering riders in the U16/U17 boys section please seed riders A or B, the reason for this is incase the field is too large and organizers have to split into 2 races

Medal winners to line up in their group like last year. 

To be Held at Ngaruawahia High School at completion of Senior Boys event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The organizers wish to advise the following

  • Last year a number of teams were using the main Gordonton Road for riding and down as a warm up.  Please be advised that our Traffic Manager has advised that if any team who is caught doing this will be instantly disqualified.  Managers please advise your riders of this.

 

  • There will be no parking in the school grounds again this year.  Schools will be permitted to set up their tents in school grounds.

 

  • Bookings for classrooms will be a first in first serve basis.   The cost is $250.00 paid upfront.  $100.00 refundable when classroom is left in the condition it was found in.  You can book a classroom at Gordonton and Ngaruawahia – please contact school direct
