Christchurch Schools Racing starts up
9 May, 2007 - Hamish Ferguson

Schools Racing started in Canterbury for 2007

Race organiser Bruce Dawe was stoked with the 121 rider turnout with several schools fielding large squads. Christchurch Boys High had the largest numbers and will look to mount a serious challenge against last years Champions School Villa Maria College. Last years individual points champion Amber Cunningham (Villa Maria)is also back and keen to defend her title.

Today's event was a 12km time trial and featured NZ U17 boys and girls Points Race champions Chad Adair (St Andrews College) and Sarah Martin (Lincoln HS). Rachel Chester (St Margaret's College) was back racing fresh off BikeNZ U19 team duties in Australia.
