Committed to the promotion of cycling as a competitive and recreational sport and its enjoyment and challenge for people of all ages.

Introduction

Cycling is a recreational sport with great appeal to many age groups and levels of ability. Whether you're a competitive cyclist or just keen to improve your fitness and try something new, North Harbour Cycling Club provides support, coaching and a variety of events to ensure you'll enjoy cycling and experience all it has to offer.

History

North Harbour Cycling Club was formed in 1984 from the former Takapuna and Rangitoto clubs which had been operating since the 1930's. Rangitoto had come into being when North Shore and Birkenhead Clubs amalgamated.

Aims

The aim of the club is to promote the sport of cycling both on the road and track, to support cyclists in their endeavours and to provide interesting and challenging events to suit all ages and abilities during the year.

TRACK CYCLING

Track cycling in Auckland is held at the Manukau Velodrome from October—March.
Track cycling is an excellent way of improving basic cycling skills as well as providing exciting and challenging racing .
Track bikes are available for hire for a small fee and coaching is provided across all grades.
