Established in Blenheim in 1931 the Marlborough Cycling Club has an interesting history with many of its riders reaching New Zealand representation through the years.
The club has a wide range of riders from International through to casual and beginners. The club runs a road and track programme with approximately 70 events per year. Road races are mainly handicap with a mixture of massed starts, graded and time trials. The majority of events have large fields with all levels of fitness being catered for. The club races on the road from April to October (Saturday) as a build-up to the New Zealand Road Championships and from November to March (Wednesday evening) summer series. Track is from November to February (Monday evening) working through to the New Zealand Track Championships.
The clubs main aim is to foster and promote safe cycling in the Marlborough area whether racing or recreational. Also to encourage cycling for good health and fitness at all age levels
